Protect the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer Amendment

Stephanie Blank

ATTENTION PATIENTS: to ensure your safety and protection, please contact your state Representative TODAY!

On December 22nd, 2017, congressional leadership must reauthorize the Rohrabacher- Blumenauer amendment in order to maintain that federal funds cannot be used to prevent states from “implementing their own state laws that authorize the use, distribution possession or cultivation of medical marijuana.” This amendment originally became a law in December of 2014. It was the first time either chamber of Congress had voted to protect medical cannabis patients: a victory in the history of cannabis reform at the federal level.

Today, millions of American’s rely on cannabis and the businesses that provide their medicine for the treatment of a wide variety of medical ailments. Ultimately, through a long-term funding bill, Congress must put an end to this cycle of uncertainty. State medical cannabis programs must be permanently protected.

To ensure your safety and protection, please contact your state Representative TODAY and ask that they work to reauthorize this amendment. If Congress fails to reauthorize Rohrabacher-Blumenauer, it would put almost two million patients along with the entire medical cannabis industry and supporting businesses at risk of federal prosecution. Furthermore, it would reduce investor confidence in what is now one of the fastest growing markets in the United States. It would also cause law-abiding citizens nationwide to be forced back into the black market in order to obtain their medicine.

Again, we urge you to contact your state representative as soon as possible to protect yourself and the cannabis industry from federal prosecution. If you are unaware of whom to contact, please refer to the following link:
